Biography
Hassan Mahmood is a doctoral student at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, advised by Ehsan Elhamifar. His research focuses on developing multi-label classifiers robust to adversarial attacks. Mahmood is interested in designing algorithms to learn representations robust to natural and adversarial distribution shifts of data.
Before joining Northeastern’s PhD program in 2020, he received his bachelor’s in Software Engineering from the National University of Science and Technology in Pakistan. Mahmood was selected for a fully funded UGRAD semester exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. Outside of academic research, he enjoys hiking, crocheting and baking.
