Jonathan Chery is a doctoral student at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, advised by David Choffnes. His doctoral research, which he began in 2021 and expects to complete in 2026, focuses on security and privacy.

During his time in Boston, Chery has held a smorgasbord of computer science positions, including educator roles—ranging from teaching assistant to adjunct professor—with Codecadamy, Boston Public Schools, the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, and the Boston Community Leadership Academy. He has also served as a developer intern for the MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Adobe (on two separate occasions), and EnergySafe.

Within security and privacy, Chery is interested in social networks, network security, privacy awareness, the Internet of Things, augmented reality, and the security and privacy of cloud computing. He enjoys using 3D printers, laser cutters, and other fabrication tools to create projects, and is a GEM fellow.
