Biography

Michael Anselmi is a principal systems software engineer in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Boston.

Anselmi joined Khoury College in 2025 as a member of the Gyori Lab for Computational Biomedicine. He was drawn to the role by the opportunity to apply his math, computer science, and software engineering skills to the problem of accelerating scientific discovery in biomedicine.

Before joining Khoury College, Anselmi’s career focused on data engineering and software engineering. He has held a variety of positions across multiple industries, from lead technical roles to high-level strategic ones. He is particularly proud of his time as the enterprise data architect for the Nurses' Health Study — a cornerstone of women’s health research for a half century — at the Channing Division of Network Medicine, part of Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Outside of work, Anselmi spends his time researching cryptosystems and information security, as well as being a parent.
